Well I haven't been on here for a long time and also haven't ran that much since being back from a mission. I decided I wanted to be healthier so I am going to train to run a half marathon in the spring.

Today's run I felt like I was going to die because it had been so long since I have ran, I forgot just how painful that first run is because of how out of shape I am in. On the run though it made me realize how much I missed and love running, its great to run again, even if it is pretty slow for right now.

Woke up nice and early so I could get a run in before work. I need to find some people to run with to motivate me to work harder. All in all a good run, just trying to get back into shape!

nice 3 miles, I would say easy but I felt like I was dying. The one positive is my American flag shorts came in the mail today they got lots of stares as I ran!

It was really hot!! On the up side though it was the easiest feeling run I have had yet. Slowly but surely getting back into shape!

Finally got out on my run around 2 in the afternoon, so once again it was hot. I was really happy I ran almost everyday this week, it really just makes a week so much better! And I finally found a running friend!

A nice run at night, feeling rested after a nice holiday. I went and tried to donate plasma today, i guess my veins aren't good enough, weird because I am pretty sure my veins are more visible than almost anyone I know! Also I am looking for a new running watch, any good recommendations would be appreciated!

Quick run after my night class, it was a guitar class! I think it will be super fun! The run was good, legs were pretty tired at the end as it is the farthest I have gone in a long time, but breathing felt pretty normal so thats good.

interestingly enough I am exactly a mile and a half from each temple, so today I just ran down to the city center temple, it was a good run, and I didn't have to wait for any lights, that was a plus! Stomach was a little uneasy but my legs felt great!

didn't get out until about 11 at night, so it was just me on the street basically. A homeless man ran with me for about a quarter mile that was interesting to say the least, he was nice.

AM-3.5 Finally starting to feel in shape a little bit, hopefully that helps me relax on my runs more. I stretched more than usual beforehand, and it really helped, because last run I just felt really tight the entire time. Slowly but surely this week I am going to start building my mileage.

PM-2 Just took a nice easy run a long way home after picking up melodie. It was a lot of down hill. But my legs felt great.

nice run in the morning. It took a lot of will power to actually get out of bed today, but once I got going I felt great. I am pretty sure more people water their sidewalks than the grass as i was running. Also my new watch came today, so I will go for a run later to play with that a little bit.

Pm- 2.5 Did a mile warm up and then decided to see how fast I could still do a mile, and wow it was hard, I haven't tried to go fast in a long time, I felt like I was working way too hard! I ended up running a 5:38 which for only running for about two weeks I was happy with. Also it gave me an excuse to play with my new watch!

I was at my brothers and decided I would just run home, I thought it would be about four miles, I was decently close, it was 5. So my longest run since starting up again. I felt great at mile three i got a little tired, but that only lasted about a half mile. I kept the pace pretty decent, my legs are gonig to be sore tomorrow! also my sisters called me and asked me if I wanted to run a half marathon with them in january!

i got new shoes today, the newest kinvaras! So I went for a Short run to test them out. The shoes felt good, but the rest of my body was dying!

Today I found some hills for a workout. I ended up doing 10x1 minute hills. I forgot how much hills make my legs ache. I was surprised I was feeling really tired on about 5 but then after that i got in a groove, the last one felt just as smooth as the first. I averaged about 6:10 up the hills. Then just cooled down to 5. I really need to work on my recovery pace, it was probably a little too slow.

Quick 4 miles in the morning. My hip felt a little funny for the first mile or two, but after that it was all good.

PM-3 This felt way hard, and then I looked at my watch and realized why, I was going way too fast. But still a nice stress reliver after work

Also I watched free to run last night, a documentary about how running went from an absurd thing that people do, to a sport that millions love today. It talked a lot about women breaking down the barrier of running in a marathon and the start of the new york marathon. It was a really interesting film!

it has been a crazy busy day but got out tonight for a nice 4 miles. I felt really smooth today, I threw in a couple fartleks also. It was pouring rain, it felt really nice other than the fact my hands went numb

Ran a 5k against myself, and wow I picked a hard route to run it. The entire first mile was uphill, so that really got my legs pumping, the second one was when my legs got tired from the hill but I just focused on the skyline and kinda zoned out, while still going pretty fast, last mile was a little sketchy because it was a horrible road and i thought I was going to break my ankles, but i did it all in 20:03. So not super fast but for the shape i am in right now I am pretty happy with that.

4.5- Wow it was cold outside, it just switched from summer to winter I feel like. The run was good helped clear my mind, had a really busy day with a funeral.

5- Found a nice mile loop and ran it a couple times, just trying to find a nice honest pace. good start to the week! knee hurt a little, so put some pain relief cream on it, it seemed to help a lot. And now I have to write a lot of papers for school, oh how fun.

Only managed to get in 3.5 today. I got home from night class and melodie had burritos ready for us, so after eating the burrito it was late, but I promised myself to run every day, so off i went with my burrito filled stomach. It was a rough first mile, but after that my stomach felt better.

randomly ran into my friend while I was running so it was nice to have someone to run with. The last mile of the run was a pretty steady uphill, so I gave the hill a pretty good push. I need to wake up earlier in order to get more miles in.

Today was the smoothest I have felt, I was running fast, without working insanely hard. Seems like things are slowly coming together. Awhile ago I signed up for the Snow canyon half which is about a month out, I did it mainly to give myself a goal to work towards, Come race day I will have only been running for about two months, so could be scary, but it has given me motivation to run everyday, I just need to start getting longer runs in.

I tweaked my hip today at work, tried to run a bit, but it hurt pretty bad and don't want to get injured. I iced it, and I am hoping that i can run tomorrow.

It was a nice day outside, ran after work. Decided to run two of the miles a little quicker, those miles were 6:30 and 6:21, it felt super easy so thats a good sign! My legs felt great today, my hip didn't bother me at all.

Good run after class again. Took a new route, and found myself on some creepy path, but I lived to tell the tale. I also found a treadmill in my complex, so that way I don't have to run outside on those reallly cold winter days.

Ran on the treadmill tonight while listening to once a runner. It was some nice motivation to listen as I ran, but wow it felt like I was running forever. At the beginning I felt like I was going to trip on the treadmill or something, but figured it out in the end. After that I biked a mile or two to cool down, then lifted weights.

Ran a 6 mile tempo today, 2 of the miles down the canyon. It was a nice confidence booster for the half marathon in a couple weeks. I did the six miles 6 miles with a 6:58 average. My legs felt so smooth today. It didn't feel too labored, I just felt like I was in a groove. Then just a warm up and cool down. What a great day, Also BYU today at pre nationals did amazing, wow!

No run today, as i was stuck at the airport all day. I guess i could have ran up and down those flat escalator things, but probably would have got some weird looks. I finished born to run on the plane though, I really enjoyed it the second time through. My plane landed at 1 in the morning so my body is pretty tired.

A nice exploring run, I ended up going a bit farther than I had planned. Had a good uphill push for about a mile. My legs felt really tired during the first three and a half miles but then loosened up.

Went and did a small workout on the track at BYU. Wow i am not in speed shape that is for sure. It has been a long time since i have tried to run a decently fast 400. I ran a 200, 400, 800, 400, 200. My times were 36, 1:15, 2:40 1:13, 30. Good workout, I want to do more speedwork and get used to going faster.

Well I wrote out this super long thing and then it got deleted, it was a perfect day for a race! I ran with Kendall wilkey for the first 11 miles, it was great to have the support, we started with the 1:35 pacers and ran with them most of the way. Our first three miles gave us a good cushion 7:04 6:52 6:45. Mile three was one of the hardest actually for some reason. The next three were all downhill 6:33 6:39 6:52 I don’t even remember the next few miles, it had some nice rolling hills 6:53 7:12 7:15. 7:06. At this point Matt jumped in and we started to distance ourselves from the pacers. There was a lot of hills the last three miles, I was glad Matt was there as support 7:09 7:04 7:00. I am happy with how it all turned out, I was a little worried because of my training. I look forward to the next one,

Today was a bit warmer, so thats good! I am trying to decide what my next race is going to be, I want to sign up for another just to stay motivated. I might run dogtown in february, or the southern utah half in april, or if i feel real adventurous maybe both.

Ran with Trey today, I am glad he is home now I have a  running buddy. We are going to run the Southern Utah Half in april, so we are trying to run everyday together now.

This run was an adventure, that's for sure. we went on a trail run, and the first mile was straight up, and after that, we got lost running in the mountains. For two miles we were just trying to find a trail while trudging through snow, and lots of dead trees. Finally, we found the trail and made it back to the car somehow, the whole ordeal took us an insane amount of time.
